Don’t Forget To Take Golf Lessons
If you plan on taking up the game of golf then you are definitely going to need to invest some time and money into golf lessons. They say that golf is a relaxing way to spend a day and the people that say that are the ones that are good at the game. For the rest of us we face maximum levels of frustration if we hit the links without first taking some golf lessons. If you are in business then golf lessons are essential to survival in business and if you have a father in law that just loves to brag about how much he can beat you in golf then you need golf lessons. No matter how you slice it golf lessons are a great thing. Get it? Slice it? Sorry, bad golf joke.
So where do you take golf lessons and whom do you take them from? While it is appealing to try and save some money by trying to get your Uncle Lou to teach you to play golf you are not going to get much out of it unless Uncle Lou is a certified PGA professional. The only type of person you want to take golf lessons from is a certified PGA professional and I recommend a professional that works at a course as opposed to one that works at a driving range. Nothing wrong with driving range pros it is just that it is nice to have a course to work with when you are ready.
Hitting The XBOX
Believe it or not you can benefit a lot from golf video games. Golf video games are not going to help you improve your swing but they can help the situational side of your play. In other words golf video games, with their realistic game play and hundreds of course options, can really help you figure out what types of shots to play in which situations. If playing XBOX games can work for NASCAR drivers then it can absolutely help you with your golf course managing skills and a game like the Tiger Woods game includes a lot of different challenges and tasks that are designed to help you better learn to manage a course. It is perfect.
So that is your plan for getting some golf lessons. Contact your local course PGA professional and set up a series of lessons. Then when you start getting into that you hit the XBOX and work on your course management skills. You will be qualifying for your tour card in no time at all!
